There is an abundance of things to do all across Africa, and so many different countries offering different travel experiences. However, one of many people’s absolute favorite countries to visit in Africa has got to be South Africa.
They say you should have certain places on your bucket list that you simply cannot afford to not experience. And I think a definite case should be made for adding South Africa to this list. There are a lot of things you have to think about when you want to have an unforgettable travel experience, and one of the best places to go to achieve this is South Africa. Here are my five reasons to add this stunning African wonder to your bucket list right now!
1. Cape of Good Hope
For many, the Cape of Good Hope is one of the most remarkable parts of South Africa and a place that everyone needs to visit. This stretch of coastline runs along the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula, and the southernmost tip is around 50 km from Cape Town, the majestic Mother City rippling in the distant sunshine. The glorious Table Mountain across the other side of the peninsula is also well worth a look.
2. Kruger National Park
South Africa also offers some of the best safari experiences in all of Africa, and the main place worth checking out is Kruger National Park. One of Africa’s largest game reserves, it is often thought of as one of the best places in the whole continent to see the Big 5 and enjoy the wonderful landscape. If you want to experience the beauty and wonder of a true African safari, it’s worth checking out Kruger National Park right now.
3. It Has Everything
The thing many people love most about South Africa is the fact that it literally has everything. There are excellent safari tours on offer, as well as ideal city breaks in places like Johannesburg and Cape Town. There is a lot of stunning nature to explore, and no small amount of delicious food and wine as well. Definitely try to check out a wine tour while you are here – it’s a must! This is a country with something for everyone, and this is what is so impressive about it.
4. The Garden Route
Another of the absolute gems to be found in South Africa is the Garden Route. This is a picture perfect 300 km stretch of road that covers the most south-western coast of the country. It has some of the best views anywhere in South Africa, and it extends from the Eastern Cape to the Western Cape. While many of our travel escapades may be based around Walt Disney World resorts, sometimes there is nothing more thrilling than nature’s own resorts!
5. Stunning Food
Stunning food is pretty much everywhere in South Africa, and you really do need to take advantage of this. It is some of the most diverse and delicious cuisines you’ll ever try, and it’s important to make this a priority for your trip. Cape Town is rated as being one of the gourmet capitals of the world, and you may also want to check out the world-renowned Truth Coffee Shop.
There are a lot of things you will get to enjoy if you choose to visit South Africa, and it offers the complete package for so many travelers – one of the reasons why it’s so brilliant. Of course, there is so much more to do here than I was able to fit into one post, and if there is anything I’ve missed off that you think should be included, please let me know in the comments!
