My stay in Sunset Beach, Cape Town and a review of Bliss Boutique Hotel
I feel like nowadays Instagram is my primary source of inspiration when it comes to traveling. I had seen some impressive Table Mountain shots on Instagram, and I was wondering where to get that view. A bit of research and I found out that you can get the view from either Bloubergstrand or Sunset Beach.
A bit more research and I found a hotel called Bliss Boutique Hotel right on the beach in Sunset Beach. I stayed two night there, and it was beautiful! The location is perfect: you can see Table Mountain from the deck and the beach is just a few steps away.
If you compare the beach to other beaches in Cape Town, like Muizenberg or Camps Bay, this one is much quieter, and you can almost have it all to yourself. The water is too cold for swimming, but I just really enjoyed strolling along the beach and admiring the view.
In the afternoon there are usually some kitesurfers in the water, and I enjoyed watching them. That’s a sport I would like to learn! Also, make sure to be at the beach for sunset, that’s when you get the best shots!
The water in the ocean might be too cold for swimming, but Bliss Boutique Hotel has a lovely pool area where you can enjoy warm water and sunbathe.
I loved the decoration in my room and the details. The room was kind of Victorian-inspired, and there was even a Victorian-style clawfoot bathtub! There was also a large shower if you are not into bathtubs.
My favorite places at the hotel were the balcony and deck, where you could just sit and enjoy the view.
Also, the restaurant area and the bar are located so that you can enjoy the sea view while eating or having a cocktail. I ate dinner there the first evening, and the next day I tried a nice Italian restaurant in Bloubergstrand where they have a separate vegan menu. The name of the restaurant is Enchanted if you are interested, and it’s just a short Uber ride away from the hotel.
There’s a breakfast buffet at the hotel with fresh fruit, toast, bread, croissants, yogurt, etc. and you can also order things from the kitchen. They also had vegan options like grilled mushrooms and tomatoes + avocados. I got avocados on toast and lots of fresh fruit – a perfect way to start a day!
I had been staying in Cape Town for a while, so it was a nice change to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city life and relax at Bliss Boutique Hotel. The place is also only 20 minutes ride away from the center if you want to do some sightseeing. I would recommend anyone traveling to Cape Town staying there, as the surroundings are absolutely beautiful and getting some pictures of the Table Mountain view is a must! If you want to stay at Bliss Boutique Hotel, you can book it here on Booking.com.

wow this looks awesome! I actually never heard of table mountain and even when seeing the pictures, it’s not telling me anything.. but the Hotel! OMG! Especially the deck seems great and the pool quite cute and cozy! 🙂 I guess its a but out off budget for going there for the kids but I keep it in mind when travelling with my husband alone 😀
The hotel definitely was awesome! The views and the pool were amazing 🙂

Your photos are magical and capture the essence of the hotel perfectly 🙂 I love quieter beaches so I’ll definitely have to keep this in mind if I go one day!
Thanks!
That balcony and deck! The views are just breathtaking from there. I could just be on that hanging swing forever. Such a great choice.
Oh yes, the swing was awesome 😀

Woah girl! That is an A++ view! I was alomst going to go to Cape Town this year but it was working out too expensive. But I’ll definitely keep this in mind for next year!!!
I really hope you can go next year!!
I must confess I’ve seen a lot of images on Instagram of Table mountain but never seen one like yours. It looks spectacular with the beach in front of it, great job! It’s a bonus that the beach is empty too!
Yes, the beach was surprisingly empty. Maybe because the water is too cold for swimming 😀
